Rajapaksas' staggering flight costs ahead of Prez polls edit post

The massive amounts of money spent by former government personnel and Rajapaksa family members for using aircraft of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) during the recently concluded Presidential election campaign has now been revealed.

According to the website 'Lanka Truth', the total flight cost of Namal Rajapaksa stands at Rs. 15.8 million (for 25 flights) while the flight costs of former minister Basil Rajapaksa stand at Rs. 4.81 million.

Meanwhile the flight costs of former minister Wimal Weerawansa and North Western PC Chief minister - Dayasiri Jayasekera are Rs. 5.98 million and Rs. 3.09 million respectively, the website adds.

In addition, the flight costs of former minister Susil Premajayantha too stand at Rs. 2.6 million, it further says.

'Lanka Truth' further says that Mrs. Shiranthi Rajapaksa's flight costs stand at Rs. 2.2 million and that she has used a MI-17 helicopter of the SLAF even to cover a short distance of 10 km.
