Lasantha murder probe expedited edit post

The CID has told the TID and Mirihana police to speedily submit the investigation reports in connection with the murder of ‘The Sunday Leader’ editor Lasantha Wickramatunga.

The two agencies have been investigating the killing for six years now.

The CID will focus its attention on the persons already questioned and several telephone numbers said to be connected to the journalist’s murder, said acting police media spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara.

The IGP handed over the investigation to the CID recently.
