NEW DELHI, August 1: Kick, the Hindi film featuring Bollywood megastar Salman Khan and Sri Lankan beauty queen Jacqueline Fernandez, has earned INR 1.27 billion in seven days flat and entered the exclusive Billion-Rupee Club.
For Salman, this is the eighth consecutive film since 2009 to have grossed over a billion Indian rupees at the box office. For Jacqueline, this is the first.
His earlier billion-rupee grossers are: Wanted (2009), Dabangg (2010), Ready (2011), Bodyguard (2012), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Dabangg 2 (2012), and Jai Ho (2014).
Trade analyst Vajir Singh says: "After Wanted, Salman realised what works for him at the box office. His films have been entertainment masala flicks. His golden run began in 2010 with Dabangg, after which he never really thought of deviating from the tested entertainment formula."
