Ambassadors named for 33 countries

New ambassadors and high commissioners have been named for 33 countries.While addressing a media briefing held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday, the ministry spokesperson Maheshini Kollonne stated that 17 among them are engaged in the Foreign Service, while the rest are engaged in other professions.

She also stated that the local Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Nigerian Foreign Affairs Ministry are taking measures to rescue D,A. Karunadasa who was recently abducted by an armed gang in Nigeria.

However, the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry added that they cannot reveal further details under different humanitarian reasons.
