Two uni students arrested for damaging public property edit post

Yesterday two university students arrested on charges of causing damage to public property during a protest opposite the UGC yesterday have been remanded until May 11, police said.

The protest march organized by the Inter-University Bhikku Front reached the University Grants Commission (UGC) at around 2.00pm yesterday.

Police resorted to using tear gas and water cannons to disperse unruly protestors, who tried to forcibly enter the UGC premises.

It was reported that public property had been damaged during the stir.
