Bottle attack on police in Wellawaya edit post

Wellawaya Police OIC who raided an illegal liquor trade in Weherayaya, Wellawaya area received injuries when the racketeer attacked him with a bottle.

Police media spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that the injured OIC was initially admitted to Wellawaya Hospital and later transferred to Sirigala Hospital in Moneragala.

Police media spokesman also stated that Police arrested the suspect and he is receiving treatment in the hospital, upon a request he made.

He also stated that facts were produced regarding the suspect to the Wellawaya Magistrate, and the suspect was remanded until 16th of this month.
