Tension in Agunukolapaelaessa over an incident of child abuse edit post

Agunakolapaelaessa residents staged a protest in front of the police last night against the release on bail granted to a suspect arrested over an incident of child abuse.

Our correspondent said that vehicular transport on the Agunakolapaelaessa – Ranna road had also been impeded due to the protest.

About 200 residents participated in the protest.

A schoolgirl aged about 12 years resident of Agunukolapaelaessa had thus been subjected to abuse.

Police said that the suspect had abused the child on several occasions last year.
