At this amicable meeting the two have discussed about the future political career of Mahinda Rajapaksa.
When questioned regarding the future path, the former President has stated that since the President is the Chairman of the party it is the President who should take decisions regarding his political career.
The discussion which continued for over one and half hours has ended in a friendly note without making a final decision regarding the career of Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The meeting has been coordinated by the popular businessman Thiru Nadesan who is the husband of Nirupama Rajapaksa, thus a relative of former President.
