Only I can work with Maithri - Ranil

Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that an individual clashing with President Maithripala Sirisena cannot govern the country together with the President.

Mr. Wickremesinghe says that only he can he do so.

Noting that the international community is prepared to cooperate with him, the Prime minister adds that this will open up opportunities for foreign investment and trade facilities.

Therefore, I urge the public join together to create a new country by electing the UNP into power on August 17, he further adds.

A PM to match Maithri

Meanwhile, ex-president Chandrika Kumaratunga says that it is the responsibility of all to elect a prime minister who can work in close cooperation with president Maithripala Sirisena.

She was speaking at a public meetinag at Golden Sun City hall in Balangoda, organized by the Citizens’ Power for a Just Society.

Not only parliament, but also the entire country will be in a total mess if Mahinda Rajapaksa becomes prime minister by any chance at the upcoming parliamentary polls, she warned.

She said although she had clashed with UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe over their views and ideologies, she would ask the people to defeat Rajapaksa as the country is important than party politics.
