Ranil tops Colombo and Mahinda tops Kurunegala edit post

United National Party (UNP) leader and Prime Minister designate Ranil Wickremesinghe has topped the Colombo preferential votes list at the 2015 Parliamentary election, with 500,566 votes.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa had got more than 400,000 votes in the Kurunegala District at the 2015 Parliamentary election.

Rajapaksa, who contested from Kurunegala under the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA), which lost the election, secured 423,529 votes.
