Seya murdered near her own home?

Police suspect the murder of the four-year-old Seya Sadewmi of Kotadeniyawa had been committed near her own home.

The suspicion has arisen after police dog 'Vicky' has been sniffing in the area around the child's home.

A senior police officer has said that this could lead to clues about the murder.

A footprint of a person has been found on the bed of the child and police are already suspecting the behaviour of a certain person.

Call for justice :
Meanwhile, a group of residents in Kotadeniyawa has held a protest demonstration yesterday (14) urging to punish those who had sexually assaulted and killed the toddler.

They have urged to hand over the perpetrator to them if the law cannot meter our adequate justice.

The body of toddler Seya, who went missing from her home, was discovered on Sunday morning on the bank of a waterway adjacent to her house.

The post mortem had revealed that the girl was sexually abused before being murdered.
