University students Leadership Training Programme abolished edit post

Minister of University Education and Highways Lakshman Kiriella stated that the leadership training for University students will be suspended. He stated this while addressing the media in Kandy.

The Leadership training programme was initiated as per a concept of Former Minister of Higher Education S.B. Dissanayaka.

The programme included physical and theoretical aspects but several incidents were reported where students had died or suffered illnesses during training.

Meanwhile, the Inter University Students Federation also has endorsed the decision to abolish the leadership training programme.
