Police says suspect arrested yesterday over seya’s killing was the brother of the chief suspect edit post

Police says that the suspect arrested yesterday in connection with Seya Sedewmi’s murder was the brother of the chief suspect Dunesh Priyashantha, alias Kondaya.

The CID arrested the suspect, Saman Jayalath from the Negombo area.

Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara stated that courts allowed police to detain him for 72 hours for questioning.

On the 19th of September the police arrested a 17 year old student and a 31 year old father of one in connection with the murder.

The CID on 23rd September however arrested an individual known as ‘Kondaya’ who is said to be the chief suspect in the case.

The Minuwangoda Chief Magistrate D declared in open Court on the 1st that the DNA tests of the 17-year student and the father of one, do not match with the DNA tests of the murdered 5-year old girl of Kotadeniyawa and subsequently they were relased.
