Sobhitha Thera passes away edit post

Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera, leader of the Movement for a Just Society and chief incumbent of Sri Naga Vihara, Kotte, passed away at 4.30 am today (08), at Mt. Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore.

He was 73.

The health of Sobhitha Thera had deteriorated following a heart surgery.

He was taken to Singapore on November 03 for further treatment.

He had been under close observation by two specialist doctors and a Sri Lankan doctor.

Following the end of the war, he had asked the then Rajapaks aregime for a change in the executive presidency and the electoral system, and worked to field a common candidate at the last presidential election.
