Do not bypass the constitution', Says former Pres. Rajapaksha edit post

The Case against Uduwe Dhammaloka Thera for housing a wild calf elephant without a license was taken for hearing at Hulsdorf Magistrate Court yesterday.

The CID informed Court that they failed to record a statement from the Thera as he had been admitted to hospital at the time they visited his resident temple.

CID informed Court that steps will be taken to record a statement in the very near future.  Later the Magistrate fixed the case hearing to be held on January 28th.

Meanwhile former president Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Thera at the private hospital where he is receiving treatment.

Whilst leaving the hospital premises , former president Rajapaksa was questioned by journalists with regard to his take on the constitution that the current government is in the process.
