Demonstration continues near Thotalanga

The demonstration launched since last afternoon against the decision to remove illegal constructions in and around Thotalanga continues for the second day, Ada derana reporter said.

Heavy traffic also reported from Nawaloka Roundabout in Peliyagoda to Thotalanga due to the protest yesterday.

The demonstration has been staged in protest over the decision to remove illegal construction sites in the area. Several police teams and police anti-riot units have been deployed there, the reporter added.

The police spokesman advised drivers to use alternative routes if at all possible.
