Mahinda can leave SLFP if he wants - Duminda

It is entirely up to Kurunegala district MP, ex-president Mahinda Rajapaksa to decide as to whether he will remain or leave the SLFP, says general secretary of the party Duminda Dissanayake.

The party does not want to keep anyone by force, and doors are open for those accused of corruption to leave anytime, he says.

It is an unpardonable and serious offence to intentionally violate party discipline and constitution, about which Rajapaksa knows well, but he behaves as if he is a new member to the party, Dissanayake charges.

His behaviour has caused immense damage to the SLFP, he says, adding that people who love the party wil rise up against those who conspire and hold meetings to divide the party and then act like heroes before the media.
