Kidney transplants were approved by Govt.- Pvt. Hospitals Union edit post

The Private hospitals union states that kidney transplants were carried out in private hospitals with the complete awareness of the Health Ministry and the then Director General of Health Services.

Media spokesperson of the union Dr. Sunil Rathnapriya stated that kidney transplants had been performed since 2013.

Meanwhile, the GMOA revealed for the first time one of the 6 accused of the kidney racket is a GMOA doctor.

Secretary of the GMOA, Dr Nalin De Silva revealed during a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday.
