No more power cuts from today: Minister edit post

Power and Renewable Energy Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that as a result of the Norochcholai Power Plant becoming fully operative from last night, power cut would end from today.

Issuing a communique; the Minister said that with the obtaining of 600 megawatts of electricity from the Norochcholai Power Plant’s second and third phases it would not be necessary to sever electricity as was done recently.

The Minister said further that he would apologize to the public for the inconvenience they suffered as a result of the power cut during the past few days.

Minister Ranjith Siyamabalapitiya said that he hoped to present to parliament on 23rd of this month particulars with regard to the reason for the power cut effected during the past few days.
