Susil, Nimal and Anura discuss for 3 hours and express their views for 4 hours before the President

A senior SLFP vice chairman and Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva, SLFP National Organiser Susil Premajayanth and SLFP general Secretary Anura Priyadharshana Yapa discussed at length yesterday about actions that should be taken with regard to the general election.

Political sources said that after the discussion they had among themselves for three hours they had a discussion with the President for four hours drawing his attention to the results of their discussion.

Reports say that at this discussion it was decided for SLFP MPs loyal to President Maithripala Sirisena and MPs close to former president Mahinda Rajapaksa to contest as a single group under the UPFA.

Reports say that it was decided on that occasion that it was suitable to contest at the general election bringing all groups as the UPFA.
