DNA found on Seya doesn’t match with Kondaya: CID edit post

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (07) informed the Court that DNA samples found on Seya Sadewmi do not match with Kondeya who was arrested in connection with the murder and sexual assault on the child.

However, the elder brother of Kondaya who was arrested in connection with the case was brought to the Genetech Molecular Diagnostics Research Institute (GMDRI) in Colombo for a DNA test yesterday (06).

The CID earlier apprised the Court that the elder brother of Kondaya has confessed to the murder. The suspect was arrested on October 3.

Seya Sadewmi was found strangled to death on September 13 while she was reported missing from her home at Kotadeniyawa in Divulapitiya on the previous day.
