Jayantha to be cricket chief?

Fourteen separate objections have been raised against candidates who have submitted nominations to contest at elections for Sri Lanka Cricket, said director of sports K.D.S. Ruwanchandra.

After going through the objections, he said some of them were of complex nature, and that taking a decision has been put off.

Objections raised to nominations by Nishantha Ranatunga and Thilanga Sumathipala, for post of president, are quite complex, said Ruwanchandra, but not the one against Jayantha Dharmadasa.

The nominations by Nishantha and Thilanga are likely to be rejected.

Nishantha faces four objections, Thilanga two, Jayantha one, Arjuna Ranatunga two and K. Mathivanan (the latter two contesting to be vice president).

Objections have also been raised against Eastman Narangoda (treasurer), Sujeeva Lokuhewa (assistant treasurer), M.M.B.D. Rambukwella (assistant treasurer) and A.A.W. Silva (referees committee).

The SLC election takes place on January 03.
