A gang that came in a Defender vehicle had abducted the 34-year-old resident of Gothatuwa who was an employee of a textile shop in Dematagoda on the 20th of this month.
The abducted person said that the persons concerned abducted him in Dematagoda, assaulted him and took him to MP Hirunika Premachandra’s office where he has been threatened.
The suspects were remanded till the 4th of January, but MP Hirunika Premachandra who is the main accused of the incident has not been arrested.
Trade unions as well as political parties state that necessary legal action should be taken against MP Hirunika Premachandra over the abduction and assault of an individual.
