Welikada shooting: Suspect arrested edit post

A 26-year-old man was arrested last night in connection with the shooting incident where a pregnant woman was injured outside the Welikada prison last week.

Police said the Colombo Crimes Division arrested the suspect at Midigama in Weligama. The police also recovered a hand grenade and five mobile phones from the suspect's procession.

A pregnant woman was injured when two gunmen arrived on a motorbike and opened fire at her. She was with an old woman and child, just opposite the Welikada Prison in Borella.
