
He had criticised the PRECIFAC and the FCID when he joined the ceremony for laying of the foundation stone for the Indoor Cricket building at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
"Today, when someone is summoned to the FCID or the PRECIFAC, the commission secretary informs the media that this much of money has been swindled. Later, it is proven to be a mere allegation. The commission secretary should be aware that he is not supposed to drop figures on to the lap of media in post haste but is supposed to issue a statement after further looking into the details. Those who face the charges have no aid. They are given no compensation either but are identified as 'thieves' through media," the minister said.
Noting that the commission appointed to probe into fraudulent activities of the former Cricket Board has made 09 suggestions and none of them call for legal redress against certain individuals, he added.
