Low pressure zone still near Sri Lanka; showers across the country today as well - 25,000 affected by inclement weather

Under the influence of the system, showery weather and cloudy skies over the country is expected to continue today.
Possibility for strong winds over the country and surrounding sea area is still high.
Showers or thundershowers will be experienced over most part of the island, particularly in the northern half of the island while very heavy falls of about 150 mm are also likely at some places.
Meanwhile, the Disaster Management Centre stated that 25,000 people in 5 districts have been affected by the adverse weather conditions.
