Medical units concerned over the treatment given to late Venerable Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera

Professor Carlo Fonseka stated that there are some concerns with regard to the medical treatment given to Late Venerable Maduluwaawe Sobhitha Thera after falling ill.

The Professor stated that the Late Thera had obtained treatment from 6 hospitals within a short time period.

Late Venerable Maduluwaawe Sobhitha Thera had undergone a heart surgery on the 10th of September at a private hospital in Colombo.

The Thera who returned to the Temple had later been admitted to the Nevil Fernando Hospital in order to get rest.

However, Media Spokesperson of the Government Medical Officers Association Dr. Naveen De Soyza stated that admitting the Thera to a Private Hospital in Malabe was questionable.

However, Director of the Nevil Fernando Hospital Dr. Sameera Senarathna stated that due to the large crowds which arrived it was unable to allow the Thera to rest.
