Exemption of increased duty for cars!

The Cabinet has decided to exempt the increased import duty for all cars including electric vehicles, for which letters of credit had been opened before November 20, said cabinet spokesman Gayantha Karunatilake.

Several ministers had informed the cabinet and relevant authorities that professional associations have made representations to them regarding the difficulties experienced by their members, who have opened LC’s for the importation of motor cars prior to the budget.
